Ringway Worcestershire EFQM result.
We have now received our EFQM report and score following the assessment carried out in December. Last year we gained the highest score ever achieved by a Ringway/Eurovia company in the UK, and I am proud to tell you all that we have again improved, and achieved a remakable score of 600, which establishes Worcestershire as a European excellent business. This has been achieved by teamwork and is a credit to everyone.
As part of our ongoing commitment to carbon reduction we have taken delivery of an electric vehicle. John Howles will be testing it out around the network. We hope it proves to be a positive experience.

Worcestershire Highways on TV
Last night and this morning Worcestershire Highways winter maintenance activities have been featured in the media. BBC broadcast live, early and late evening from Lydiate Ash with an excellent feature on the achievements of the team. As ever Jon Fraser was excellent on camera and there was also a good performance by our driver Dave Hundley speaking "on the job".

Worcestershire support Help For Heroes
Once again Ringway Worcestershire are ahead of the rest when it comes to innovation, winning four of the nine awards on offer including the Grand Prize at the biannual Ringway Innovation awards.
As in previous we decided to donate all the prize money to charity. Yesterday Help For Heroes were here at Highways House to collect a £1200 cheque as part of our ongoing support for the charity.

Excellence award for Ringway team.
Today Councillor John Smith presented an excellence award on behalf of Nu Phalt to Fred White, Tim Cooper and Stephen Woodward. The award was recognition for the excellent standard of infra red patching achieved by the team. Well done to all - looks like we are going to need a bigger trophy cabinet in Worcester.

"LEAN the LOAD" UPDATE.
We have now carried out "LEAN the LOAD" audits on 13 vehicles within the Worcestershire Highways fleet with some very interesting findings...
a. We have been able to reduce the vehicle weight of all the vehicles audited some by as much as half a tonne.
b. Two of the vehicles prior to their audit were found to be over weight.
c. We found, pre audit 18 shovels on one 3.5 tonne vehicle at Newlands.
Pictured right is a load removed during audit at Newlands.
