Staff Briefings results.

Thanks to everyone for their support at this weeks bi monthly staff briefings. Thanks also for taking part in the mini survey.
Twenty two people supplied their home email addresses and they will now be placed on the mailing list to receive electronic copies of newsletters etc., enabling us to reduce postage and printing costs.
We have several contenders for the employee merit award voted for at the briefings. Kevin Anderson, Dan Hughes, Richard Tustin and Charlie Lee all scored well, but in first place we have a dead heat with Des Dalloway and Steve Winters coming joint first. Both will receive £25.00 next week.

Low Carbon Christmas Campaign - Update.

We are now half way through the one month campaign. The race not to be the recipient of a "carbon criminal Christmas card" is hotting up, or should that be cooling down. Card receivers to date have been guilty of leaving elecrical equipment on over night, lights and fans, yes fans, left on when rooms empty and carrying out unnecessary printing.

Remember, the competition for carbon reduction ideas is open and we have received many interesting entries. All entrants receive a low energy prize.

We are also looking at high energy users such as depot hot boxes and cartems with a view to lower the carbon production.

Remember Christmas comes once a year but there is only one Planet Earth.

Worcestershire "Low Carbon Christmas Campaign".

During the month of December we will be running a Low Carbon Christmas Campaign in Worcestershire. A small team led by Chris Gareze, including Danielle Hodgetts, John Howells, Paul Gilliver and Ian Savage have come up with a range of ideas to help lower energy usage and reduce our carbon footprint.
We will run a competition for the best idea, all entrants will receive a low energy light bulb and the winners will receive a low energy saving prize.
Please look out for the posters and texts, and please invest some energy into saving energy including turning off chargers and equipment when not in use, you dont want to be the first recipient of a "carbon criminal Christmas card".

Worcestershire Highways Armistace Day find.

On the day the U.K. remembers service men and women, Armistace Day, Paul Fox and Simon Hughes came accross a First World War medal in a gully in St. Johns, Worcester. The name on the medal tells us that it was awarded to Private F Harwood of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. We are trying to return the medal to Mr Harwoods family and are enlisting the local press to help. We have also written to several Harwoods listed in the area.

Any information would be appreciated.
